Hi Guys,
How do you deal with overlapping backup windows and maintenance windows (like security patching) in large environments where these are handles by different teams.
Something like MSSQL you would likely not want to be restarting the SQL Server while backups are running but for something like VM backups using snapshots it likely does not matter much?
Any pointers on this would be appreciated.

Re: Backup window and maintenance window overlapping
Hello,
correct, reboots of VMs are fine in general.
The only issue that needs to be solved in that case would be application consistency. Depending on your settings, you might require application consistency. If the backup scheduler hits a time when the VM is rebooting, then application consistency will fail.
Failed VMs will be retried per default 3x every 10min: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
Best regards,
Hannes
