Backupcopy Immediate Copy

Hello,

i see an technical Problem in Backupcopy with Immediate Copy.
If the Sourcebackupjob is per VM-Target the Backupcopy of the VM Starts while not finished.
If there are some Works after Backupjob (like Synthetic Full) the Copy Job will be Terminated in Sheduler and the Backupcopyjob fails (with Succes on the VM but Failure on the Job (Waiting for the next Task or Waiting for backup infrastructure resources availability))

As Workaround we have to create a Backupwindow for our Backupcopy job (immediate Job is scheduled "later")

Support says i can wrote to forum to get a quick response as this Bug is Fixed.

contacted Veeam support about it (case 04167611) and we did get a hot fix. But it only changed bcj status from “failed” to “warning” and not to “successful”

Reply from support is that fix can't be prepared because it would involve too many changes in the current code. Changes are planned to be done in one of the next Veeam releases.

Backup copy jobs running well if both of the next statements are true:

1. The backup copy job finishes with the warning 'Waiting for backup infrastructure resources availability'.
2. All the VMs have 'Success' status.

Thank for you this post, I think this is the issue we're seeing as well,

I though it had to do with us having 2x backup copy jobs using the same source going to 2 different off-sites.
We are getting really different random statuses on our backup copy jobs every day, mostfly failed and warnings.

I'll ask the current support on our case regarding this patch!

Ok, just got another reply to our case:

Unfortunately, the 'warning' solution is the only thing that can be done right now.
The proper fix is planned to be implemented in Veeam version 11, sadly I can't provide you with any estimations about the release date.

Can a veeam employee recheck this please, v10 is just released..

This is currently the only possible fix. Behavior change will require more code changes that cannot be delivered as a hotfix. We're planning to address this in a bigger update/release. Thanks!
