What was meant here, is that if the VM acts as a proxy server to backup other VMs using hotadd, CBT cannot be used to backup this particular VM. You can either use another proxy to backup this very VM via hotadd or, in case it is not used as hotadd proxy to backup any other VMs, enable CBT manually on it and it will backup itself via network mode using CBT.
