BackupSync job notification email has [None] in subject line

Post by soylent »

Since upgrading to 7 and installing patch, our backup copy job email notifications say "[None]" instead of the usual Success/Failed/Warning message. The email shows that the job was completely successful, so what exactly does "None" mean?

Max, what about other jobs notifications? Does this affect backup copy jobs only?

Could you please check the e-mail subject template in Veeam B&R options dialog (E-mail Settings tab)?

I've seen the same behaviour since applying patch 1 it always says [None]. I wondered if it was picking up the status at the end of the job which does show as none within the console once the job has finished and entered idle mode. was alright before patch 1,

Guys, it would be much appreciated if you could open a case for this issue, provide logs and post case IDs here. Thanks!

Strange, I am subscribed to Backup Copy jobs notifications from our production backup server, and not observing such issue with Patch 1 installed. There is a chance of a bug though, because Backup Copy job reporting was heavily revamped in Patch 1, so please open a support case to let us investigate this behavior in more details. Thanks!!

QC guys were able to reproduce that, should be addressed in the next patch. Thanks for the heads up!

In the meantime, is there a workaround we can use? We have some triggers and actions defined based on the subjectline in the e-mail, which don't work now.

As a workaround you may want to try installing Veeam ONE (trial version) and configure email notification for your backup copy jobs using built-in monitoring engine, should do the trick.

I am getting the same issue too.

Which monitoring system is better One or B&R?

Allan, Veeam B&R is not a monitoring solution. It provides just basic backup and replication reporting capabilities, while Veeam ONE is a standalone solution dedicated to monitoring, reporting and capacity planning for virtual and backup infrastructures, which is closely integrated with Veeam B&R.
