benefit of Enable guest file system indexing

Dear all
Hi

in backup job wizard in guest processing there is one option with name : Enable guest file system indexing now i want to know the benefit of select this option is that we can
use guest file for restoring vm ????

if i don't select that option can not restore guest file ????
i want to know what is difference between select Enable guest file system indexing or deselect that ???
