Best setup to NAS etc

Post by slewis1972 »

Ok, am a new Veeam customer and setting it up, well, have done so, now tweeking.

My current schedule does a Incremental every night, synthetic full every Saturday and then a Active full ever last Saturday. This all goes to a NAS. Set recovery points to 10

I then have a full backup, once a month also to a NAS, separate location, which inturn goes into the cloud (Amazon S3) over the weekend. Set recovery point is 0. Lifecyles set for 12 months. This full backup is also sent to a external hard drive once a month and taken offsite.

Overkill or completely messed up?. First time had to setup so going through the motions.

No, it's definitely not an overkill. Actually, your plan looks solid, as it successfully follows the "so-called" “3-2-1” rule (3 Copies -> 2 Different Media -> 1 different location). Thanks.
