Hi All
I need Help
We make Backup to Qnap on local lan and I want to replicate on Qnap on remote site
he'res my backup job
2VM (one files server 400Gb and one mail server 156 GB)
Backup Proxy set Off-host backup (automatic proxy selection)
restore points to keep on disk 14
configure secondary destinations for this job is check and the data transfert is set to direct
Advanced Tab
backup Reverse incremental
Maintenance nothing check
storage
Enable inline data deduplication (recommended) check
Exclude swap file blocks (recommended) check
compression level Optimal
Storage optimization Lan target
Hyper-v
changed block tracking check
Volume snapshots check
Guest Processing
Enable application-aware processing is check
Enable guest file system indexing
we use open VPN for the remote sites
we transfert but the max transfert speed we get is 4MB/s our link is a 30/30
Can I do something to speed up the transfert ?
If I use the WAN accelerators we have to upgrade to enterprise version and we don't know how will be the gain ?
thanks

Re: Best Way to backup on Qnap and Backup copy to a remote Q
you could first put secondary qnap in your local lan, do a first copy job with full backup-size, and after put qnap back to other location and only transfer incrementals over slow vpn

What is the primary bottleneck for the backup copy job?

Do you mean the network is the bottleneck? The deploying WAN accelerators should be the right step forward to job performance improvement.
