I just realized 10TB of storage got filled today. What would be my best way to clean this up?
Thank you

Re: Best way to cleanup old backup
If you are not using it anymore you can remove the backups from disk via the Veeam GUI or just go in the Windows/Linux folder and remove them like a normal folder would be removed.

Re: Best way to cleanup old backup
If still want to preserve some portion of chain, be aware to save the latest .vbk and increments dependent on it. Otherwise (removing .vbk and leaving dependent increments in place) the backup chain would be unusable.

I'd also recommend to use built-in space notifications to track free space on the repository and also Capacity Planning for Backup Repositories report in Veeam ONE that allows to monitor current space consumption and estimate the date when you run out of free space on repository.

Alex,
Additionally, you could check the job settings, specifically retention – maybe you need to set it shorter for excising jobs, but, of course, that does not refer to the orphaned backup files.
