Best Way to Create Deployable Veeam Image

Hello,

My team and I have been looking into ways to create a Veeam image file that could be used as a sort of parent to spawn children Veeam servers, that, combined with the Configuration Database Connection tool, would allow us to essentially unbox a brand new server, configure its RAID, image it, rename the server and Veeam database, and ship to the client.

We first attempted to use Microsoft Deployment Toolkit but ran into some issues (but can revisit if people think it's a good option) so we then switched over to trying to use Clonezilla. This seemed to work ok on top of servers that already had Windows, but when we tried it on a freshly built server without Windows installed, then it did not recognize the software constructed RAID (we're aiming for all future builds to have hardware RAIDs, but have plenty of software style out in the mix).

Has anyone else accomplished something like what we're aiming for here? The goal is that when we spin up Veeam servers currently, it can take two to four hours give or take, whereas the successful Clonezilla imaged servers were around thirty to forty-five minutes.

I don't have experience with the cloning of windows and raid systems. Let's wait for others to answer with their experience.

Make sure to reset the installation ID of the VBR server. Especially if you have planned to manage them with the service provider console.
