Best way to migrate cloud storage

Post by ndb8 »

I may be missing something obvious here, what is the best way to migrate storage from one cloud repository to another?

We have backups in iland (that have been transferred by backup copy jobs) which we wish to migrate to a new repo. Is there a supported way to do this?

Thanks

Hi,

Such migration can be done by the Service provider (in your case it is iLand). We have a step-by-step guide for this.

Thanks!

Thanks, is the service provider the only one who can do this? I'm planning to migrate to another provider so iland would not be inclined to help me...

Hi,

Yes, the guide would help if the service provider just migrates your backups to the new cloud repo. If you are going to migrate to new provider, there are two possible options:
- get your backup files from your service provider and then ask the new provider to seed these backups;
- start over with the new provider.

Thanks!

Copy your backups from cloud repository to a server of your choice. Then, seed those backups to new cloud repository enabled by different service provider. Thanks!
