Big VM doing hourly backups - How to schedule the full?

Post by bgalante »

Hi,

I have a new requirement to backup a 1.3TB VM hourly. It is a fairly active VM (FTP Server that received 2500 files a day).

I'm not sure how to accommodate the full backup, what is going to happen if I tell Veeam (In the same job) to do a full active backup every saturday? Will all hourly jobs subsequent to the full fail until the active full is finished? (which I assume would leave me with x hours of file uploads that are not backed up (for one hour until the next hourly job runs.)

Should I create a separate job to just do the full on Saturday? Would the same thing happen?

Not sure how to proceed, help is appreciated!

Job performing active full backup won't even try to execute incremental cycle at the same time.

In this case an incremental run of first job would be put on hold, until full cycle of second job is finished.

Thanks.
