Browse restorable Files (Windows) / search

Post by umenz »

Hi,

is it possible to search for a File and get a Report.
The reason is to track the changedate and find the relevant restorepoints to check

On Restores from my Fileserver Disk (4.000.000 Files), the Backup Browser needs 15 Minutes to Display the Files from a Restorepoint and i have 90 Points !

thanks

Yes, this shows helpfully for Enterprise owners, my Edition is the Standard Edition.

But the most relevant case to restore a Office Document is to check the File and browse or search for a Version with a changed timestamp. In my opinion is this Option highly recommend for all Restores and Editions.

The VEEAM Backup Browser is simple working as the Legato NETWORKER, but other Restore Managers works smarter (ARCserve).
Is it possible to request such a feature or is it handled completly with the Enterprise Edition.

regards

The functionality I've referred to above is available in all Veeam B&R editions.

"Backup Enterprise Manager (Standard Edition)" who has named this ??

Yes it can be used successfully for this Job. But the Search results are 80 Pages with the same File.
So we must compare the Restorepoint date and Last modified date to get a compact list of relevant information. It helps, but Needs some time.

thanks for Clearing

Yep, you can specify the interval both for file modification date and time when backup was created.

Yes, the File was in every Restorepoint found, but not changed. We use Reversed incremental.
Sorting and dedupe the Results to Last modified can help - easy in Excel. But no export button found or not to see the wood for the trees….
