Bug - Configuration Backup Restore
I have 2 repos total - Wasabi Immutable and Linux Immutable
Everything in this post is in regards to the Veeam configuration backup/restore, NOT the backup/restore of workloads.
In the Configuration Backup setup, I can successfully choose either of my repos in the dropdown and it will successfully backup the configuration to either repo.
However, if I click on "Restore..." to do a restore of the configuration, the ONLY option in the repo dropdown to restore the backup configuration from is "This Server". Wasabi and Linux repos are not in the list. The ONLY repo in the list is literally called "This Server".
"This Server" is not the name of any of my repos. That choice forces me to choose a config backup file from the local server hard drive. Of course, that will not work, because the config backup is located in the actual repos. Therefore, it is not possible to restore the backup config (unless I manually copy them from the repo to the local hard drive).
Is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong here?
I also tried creating a new local repo on the local server hard drive and saving the backup config. This repo also does not show up in the dropdown to restore from, BUT I can use "This Server" (the only item in the dropdown) and because my new temporary local repo is on the local server, I can browse to the config file and restore it.
Why are all of my repos successfully showing up on the configuration backup settings screen, but none of them show up on the configuration restore wizard?

Hi Joloo
May I ask, do you have MFA enabled for your user account? Repositories with a Gateway Server, such as object storage, are not available when using MFA-enabled accounts for the restore. The restore wizard mentions that:

Best,
Fabian

No, there is no MFA. When I open the console, it doesn't have a place for a username or password. The option is clicked that says "Use Windows Authentication" (whatever the default is).

Re: Bug - Configuration Backup Restore
I put in a support ticket, and they said that repositories are not supported for restores, and that you have to manually pull the backup file yourself from your repo and copy it to the server. This does not make sense, because the documentation clearly states that you can choose a backup repo during the restore process.

Please share your case number with me for review.
Are you trying to restore from a "new backup server" or the "original backup server"?
In my lab it works on the "original backup server" with MFA disabled:

Re: Bug - Configuration Backup Restore
This is the original backup server.
The ticket is Case # 07472822
MFA is disabled. I'm using Windows authentication, so it doesn't prompt for any username or password when I open the console (just the default settings)
