After years of being in IT, my gut is to disable the local admin account on Windows servers and create a new one with Administrator rights. Fast forward to 2025 and I'm second guessing this due to UAC issues with all of my Veeam servers. (VBR, VB365, VONE, VBEM)
What is the recommended best security practice? Rename the local admin account and use it? Disable it, create a new local admin, and fiddle with UAC settings?
I have already read the Veeam Backup & Replication Security Best Practice Guide section Roles and Users, but I did not find an answer to my question. If I overlooked it, please let me know.
