Can a physical backup proxy run a replication and backup job

Can a physical proxy run a replication job and a backup job at the same time? I seem to get an error when trying to run both at the same time even with the concurrent job setting set high enough.

I’m wondering what proxy mode is being utilized in each case (backup/replication) and also whether "failover to network mode" is disabled or not. Additionally, how many proxy servers do you in case of replication – two or one? Thanks.
