Can Enterprise manager be installed after B&R

Post by rikH »

A simple question which I have searched but I haven't found a clear answer.
I believe the correct order for installing veeam B&R is first to install Enterprise manager and then B&R. I have a customer that only has B&R installed. Is it a problem to now install Enterprise manager along side B&R or can it just be installed and expect it to work so long as the prerequisites are met,

The installation order doesn't matter as much as the upgrade order. If you do not upgrade an existing EM before your VBR, your EM may not be able to poll the VBR properly after the VBR has been upgraded. However, with a fresh installation it doesn't have that same requirement.

Thanks Tyler,
actually it was because of the upgrade order that it was making me wonder if the install was relevant. I'm used to the EM always being first in the upgrade and most customers have EM already so I thought to throw the question out,
