Can I create FULL backups from an Incremental sequence

Post by Carlos@Dav »

Hi All,
I have a backup copy sequence of full backup and monthly forward incrementals going back approx 18months.
This works fine and I can restore from any point in this sequence.
What I want to do is create several "Full" backups from a number of points along the sequence. For example at 18, 12 & 6 months.
Is it possible to do this ? I have looked around and googled this and not found an answer.
These files are housed on a Synology NAS and I am running B&R 9.5u4 on a Windows Server 2016.
Many thanks for any help.

It sounds like the export backup feature could be useful: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... l?ver=95u4

Thank you.
That looks like exactly what I need.
while I am here, can you tell me if I can change the target of the Export job ?
One of the reasons I am doing this is because of the lack of storage available.
Thanks again. :)

Hey,

Nope, it will create a full backup in the same repository where the source restore point is located.
We will consider this as a feature request for further versions.

Thanks!

Yet another reason to use ReFS for your backup storage... with ReFS, exporting backup requires almost no extra disk space (only some MB for VBK metadata).
