Hi
I was looking to use surebackup job to do our testing for patches and system upgrades on our production systems.
My main concern is how long can I keep the surebackup running for while we apply new patches and test? Would having it run for 30 days be too long or cause some issues?
My other issue is getting a user access to the isolated servers/desktops once restored. So far using a static mapping I have been able to access it from a production server/desktop on the same network as the backup server but not my from workstation on a different network.

Re: Can I use Surebackup for UAT testing
Hello,
and welcome to the forums
technically you can, but I'm not sure whether it is really desired. I mean, it's like running for 1 month from a snapshot. That can cause a huge amount of data.
Second thing is that the backup chain must not merge during that time. So going with monthly active full is the only way I see.
Best regards,
Hannes
