Can someone verify this is correct way to restore test VM?

Post by james411 »

Hello all,

I think this is very simple, but I just want to make sure I have this right before I push the button. I want to restore a VM to my ESXi host, but I do NOT want to mess with the original VM at all. I just want to restore this VM to an isolated network to do some testing on it.

I only have one ESXi host right now. Do I have this right, that I can do this by doing a full VM restore, and all I have to change is the VM name and the VM network? Then Veeam will do the restore and my original production VM will NOT be touched right?

I just want to make sure my original VM stays running and does not get overwritten :) Thanks for the help!

Yes, you should select restore to an alternate location and modify network settings accordingly.
