Can't create backup copy job for windows agent policy job

Post by kaysond »

I have veeam b&r on a windows server 2k19 VM. I've also got veeam agent for windows on a windows 10 pro desktop. Both are community edition. I've successfully set up a windows agent policy job on veeam b&r to back up the dekstop to my main repository. I'm now trying to set up a backup copy job so this backup is also stored off-site. However, there doesn't seem to be any way to link the copy job to this agent policy job. I checked the documentation and couldn't find anything that says this isn't possible... Does anyone have any suggestions?

All my jobs (note the windows copy job has 0 objects):

Trying to add a secondary target to the windows agent policy job shows no available targets:

Similarly, trying to add the windows agent policy job to the copy job shows no available jobs:

The job does run successfully and I can see the backups in my repo...

Hello Aram,

In current version of Veeam B&R immediate backup copy does not support agent policy as a source. You can use periodic copy as a workaround. Thanks!

Thanks! That was helpful.

Is there a plan to add this feature?

Hello Aram,

Yes, it's planned for the next major release of Veeam B&R. Thanks!
