Cannot find Compact option for Backup Job in v7.0.0.839

I am trying to enable the periodic compaction of the backup file. I do not see this option anywhere in the job settings.

I am using v7.0.0.839 for vSphere.

Hope someone can clue me in.

Brian, are you talking about regular backup job or a backup copy job?

Regular backup job. Transforms are taking forever.

There's no such an option as compact for the regular backup job, however it is recommended to perform active full periodically to avoid extremely long incremental backup chains and fragmented full backup file.

So is it an option to kill this last transform operation that has been running for 58 hours and kick off the regular full backup in the job? How would that be initiated if this is a viable option?

Not sure whether stop operation interrupts transformation process, most likely you would need to kill the process to stop it.

No, next regular job run should repair the VBK file, however you're planning to perform a fresh active full, so this is not the case as brand new VBK file will be created.
