Has anyone had this error while performing Storage vMotion action with Veeam Backup VM? The Message is the following "A general system occured:The virtual machine has virtual disk in linked-clone mode that prevents migration". We are using vSphere 4.1 with ESXi hosts and FC SAN.

Are you using Virtual Appliance (hot add) processing mode?

I don't understand your reply. What Veeam backup job processing mode are you using?

Virtual Appliance mode.I meant, I have not added any additional raw vmfs volumes to this virtual machine. In storage manager of my windows server system(veeam backup VM) I can see only one NTFS partition.

Try to open VM virtual hardware settings and see if there are any drives are still attached to it. If there are, please remove them manually, and try again.
