I've got ESX 4.0 and the current vesion of Veeam trial. When I add a server I am prompted to add service console credentials, connection fails using my root account (shell access has been granted). I made another account in ESX and they are only in the "users" group and this successfully connects and I can browse to vmfs/volumes/storage1 for example but I cannot make a new folder. Subsequently, I cannot get a successful backup to this location. I have tried adding my ESX account to different groups but I'm getting nowhere and am especially confused that root (the almighty account) fails.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Cannot write to storage on ESX
Incase anyone is experiencing the same thing, or notices that with the root login (default in the Veeam software) here's the link for how to fix it. It may be a repost, maybe I should have already known this, but here goes.
