Cant realise backup plan

Post by TestYourMight »

Hello, i cant realise my backup plan, maybe exists some kind of "best practice" or something that can help me. I want to have backups for the month (1 full backup for each week and everyday backup for the last week). Cant understand how to delete incremental backups after they made the synthetic full backup.
Draw it, hope explained clearly and correctly.

Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the community!
Previous backups will be deleted once they are outdated in accordance with retention policy.
Note that if you have forward incremental chain you need the whole chain to be outdated to get the backups deleted.
Thanks!

Seems like you're after GFS backup retention, so please take a look at the backup copy jobs. Regular backup jobs don't provide the ability for GFS.
