Catalyst Replication
We do the following.
Regular backup job of Resource pool, then we do a backup copy of that data to a HPE StoreOnce.
We have some issues with Catalyst Replication. Is it correct that when the copy job merges the week job to month that the whole catalyst share is resynced?
Is there a better way to do it? we have 2 HPE StoreOnce that we want to replicate from A to B

Re: Catalyst Replication
Hello,
The job of "catalyst copy" (I assume that this is what you mean with catalyst replication) is to copy only the (unique) changes. It's unexpected, that there is a full resync. A (weekly) full backup just gets the monthly flag. That's it. There is no additional merge / synthetic full.
Best regards,
Hannes
which ones and what is the support case number? We have some issues with Catalyst Replication.

Re: Catalyst Replication
Have not made a case but if it is like a full resync every week I think we need to find a better solution for our case. Thank you

Re: Catalyst Replication
a full resync is the opposite of what catalyst copy is supposed to do.

Re: Catalyst Replication
But when the copy goes from week to month all the files are changed, so then it will need to resync that part?

Re: Catalyst Replication
no, not really... that's why you invested a lot of money in a deduplication appliance

Re: Catalyst Replication
The main SotreOnce is using 295 TB and the one that it is syncing to is 400 TB user data stored. in theory it should be the same.

Re: Catalyst Replication
Just to confirm, you're comparing two Catalyst Stores and those are not used by anything else, just to keep Veeam B&R backups from the same set of jobs? How do you check the size occupied? What is the 'Keep secondary copies for additional' value in the Catalyst Copy job? Have you compared the objects stored on Catalyst Stores on both sides? Haven't you changed encryption settings for the source job recently?
