Change Retention on Existing VBK file
I created a Copy Backup job in the spring of 2016 for a file server. I have restore point archiving turned on, set to keep 4 weekly, 3 monthly, 4 quarterly, and 10 yearly backups. Right now my oldest backup is from April 2016 and is marked as a quarterly. I'd like to change that one backup to be treated as a yearly so it won't be deleted when the next quarterly is generated. Is there a way to do this?

Re: Change Retention on Existing VBK file
Hello,
there is no way to do it via UI, but I believe the support team can help marking the backup file as yearly instead of quarterly.
Or you may manually copy the backup and one copy will retain after the main is deleted by retention.
Thanks!

Great. Could you provide a case number for us to follow it?
Thanks!

Case number 02081967. Per Support's recommendation, I copied the vbk file into a subdirectory, also placed a copy of the associated vbm file in there too. After rescanning the repository, it shows up as a separate backup set in \Backups\Disk (imported).

Thanks for the update. So support suggested the same thing I did above.
Have you ask about marking quarter backup as yearly?
