Changed mail notification in Veeam v8

Post by loelly »

In Veeam v7, if a job failed for some reason and the automatic retry was successful, no error mail was generated if e-mail notification was turned on. This changed in v8 (patch 1). Even when the retry was successful, an email is generated. Is there any way to switch back to the behavior of v7, as we do not want to be notified of errors which have been resolved during retry?

Thanks!

Hi Maik,

I agree that the behavior we had in v7 is a more preferable one. Let me find out what has changed in v8 in the notification engine.

Thanks!

As I recall, this was changed in part due to cases where no email was generated because the third retry was never reached e.g. hourly jobs that failed just before their next start time.
