Cleanup restorepoints after failing copy job
Our copy job failed last Friday after it ran out of storage. I could only expend the storage with 200gb so I have done that, but the copy job left to much restore points behind.
It's set to keep 2 restore points, there are 3 now.
Is there a way to trigger Veeam to cleanup the unnecessary restore points?
a little background to the situation:
We replaced our SQL server last week, I miscalculated the needed space. Normally I have RP of 100gb, now I have 2 points of 200gb and one of 350gb. The job failed Friday when it was halve way trough the SQL server, it already copied 120gb from 150 of data. So I expect that to night I need an additional 120gb above of the normal 100gb which is more then the 200gb free space.

Re: Cleanup restorepoints after failing copy job
The way backup copy job works, it merges the oldest increment in the chain into the full backup file (first restore point in the chain) at the end of successful restore point creation. So you need enough space on repository for the restore point to be created.

Ok, and if I only backup a small part of the servers tonight (so that I have to copy less data), will that work??

Temporarily removing some of the servers from backup copy job might work. However I'd extend repository to prevent such situations in future. Btw, there're built-in space notifications that allow to track free space on the repository and also Capacity Planning for Backup Repositories report in Veeam ONE that helps in monitoring space consumption.

Okay, I will give it a shot to night.
The storage is expanded from 2.2tb tot 2.6 permanently to prevent this in the future. I will take a look at the Capacity Planning
