Client error: Access is denied on backup target
Hallo all,
I can’t get Veeam working on a network share as target.
Situation
I have a cluster with 3 host managed with vCenter. I use VMware vStorage API >> Network mode and as target a windows share \\server-ip\veeam\Pappendrecht\ what is replicated to a different location.
If I run the job I get the error:
Building path for backup
FormatStorage failed
Client error: Access is denied
Failed to create or open file [\\server-ip\veeam\Pappendrecht\test.vbk.
If I browse to the \\server-ip\veeam\Pappendrecht\ I can create end delete files so the share works fine.
I hope some one can help me to put the backup files on the storage.
Greetings,
Bas

Thanks for posting back your resolution! Service account should always have enough permissions on the target datastore to successfully run the jobs.

Re: Client error: Access is denied on backup target
HI there,
This solution did not work for me; I double checked the login of the service and I'm still getting "access denied. Failed to delete file" errors.
Veeam support, besides being haphazard and unintelligible, is no support, so I thought I turn here.
Thanks,
JB

Hello,
Thanks for re-using existing topic, much appreciated. Can you please tell me when do you see this error message? What type of job you're using and what is the target destination? BTW, what's your case ID?
Thank you!
