Cloud Edition Questions

Right now we have the Veeam B&R Suite. I'm downloading a trial of the cloud edition....what's the best way to try out the cloud edition? I'm guessing stand up a new VM and install it and NOT install it over top of the existing production install until after we are sure we want to purchase it? What's that upgrade look like?

You might also want to create a small share called "Local cloud" or something and, then, select it as a target in the backup plan settings ("File system" option); should help you to familiarize with the backup plan settings and the way they affect the target cloud storage (number of files stored, purge settings, space consumed, etc.). If then you would like to finally switch to Cloud Edition, you can simply upgrade your current installation and update the license.
