Clustered SQL Licensing

Hi,

I'm curious. If I have 4 nodes SQL Cluster, and only one node is active at a time. Do I need 4 instance licenses?

Hello,
you need a license for every machine you back up. The software does not care what's running inside a VM (whether it's a cluster or not).

In most SQL scenarios, that would be 4 machines = 4 licenses
