We have some SQL Clusters on baremetal that we would love to move into VMs and then leverage the Veeam goodness to simplify the backup operation of these SQL boxes.
However, if I have iSCSi targets presented inside VMs then how would Veeam work to snapshot the VM + the shared storage underneath? Is this even possible?

Re: Clustered SQL VM - Shared Storage backend inside VM
The disks connected via in-guest ISCSI initiator cannot be snapshotted and thus are skipped from processing. Thanks.

Re: Clustered SQL VM - Shared Storage backend inside VM
So nobody would use clustering inside VMs under a Veeam solution? I want to get away from using Symantec BE 2014 and our SQL and File-Server clusters are holding back because of this.
Is there anything in roadmap going forward?

Why not look at clustering that doesn't use shared storage ? SQL Always on for example.
