Confusion regarding terms in VEM vs VBR
So I ran our first guest file restore using VEM, in VEM it states success under status and emailed us a successful file restore.
Under log in VEM though and check the job log it shows
Starting FLR job for VM $fileserver
FLR job started successfully on server '$veeambr'
SCOFS02P: File level restore started
SCOFS02P: Enabling backup operator privilege
SCOFS02P: Batch mode
SCOFS02P: Mounting restore point
Updating FLR session history
If I look in Veeam BR it says the FLR is still "working"
Is this is a "success" that the job started rather than a full restore or is something not communicating correctly or what's up?

Re: Confusion regarding terms in VEM vs VBR
Basically what happens when you do a guest restore is this.
VBR opens the selected restore point and mounts it in VeeamFLR and thats all VBR itself does. From there it launches the selected Guest restore utility which then access that mounted backup and does the actual data restore.
It sounds like what you've got is the email saying VBR has done it's part. You should have the Guest File restore tool open that you can do the actual restore from

I believe he's talking about Enterprise Manager.
If you're not using indexing, the restore point has to be mounted just to browse for files in Enterprise Manager. You have to choose a different restore point, or log out, or otherwise change what page of Enterprise Manager you're on before the backup will be unmounted. So long as it's mounted for browsing, VBR will show the FLR as 'working'.
I have sometimes seen a delay of some minutes before the session shows as stopped in VBR, but I have not been able to isolate it. I think it's more common if I just close the browser instead of logging out first.

FLR session automatically closes after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Re: Confusion regarding terms in VEM vs VBR
So on this particular server we are using indexing so it isn't opening the VBK to browse.
VEM reported a successful restore at 3:31pm, VBR didn't report job completion till 5:21pm.
In VEM it still reports "Is Restored X" while I have verified the file does exist in a restored state in the desired directory and we received a success email at 3:31pm for the job.

I'd let support take a look, since the session should be closed immediately after restore.
