We have a few remote sites that we do backup with veeam the following way:
1. we do a backup of the 4-6 VM´s to a local repository
2. we do a backup of the same VM´s to the central repository
It would be nice to have veeam only make one backup of the VM´s and then copy the backup files to the central repository - this way i do not have to do another backup with all the time consuming tasks like taking and removing snapshots or hotadd operations. Did i get it that the new cloud edition does this - but only to cloud storage and not to existing repositories?
Thanks
Dirk

Re: copy backup to second repository
Thank you for the feedback; it stands to reason to have aforesaid functionality.
As to the Cloud Edition, it only copies your backups to specified cloud storage, not to existing repositories.
So, by now the only possible solution for your issue is to have two separate backup jobs or utilize third-party tool like Robocopy responsible for copying files to another location.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Re: copy backup to second repository
If your existing repository is a file share it does appear to be possible via the file share provider. However it may be worth noting that Cloud edition is going to attempt to copy entire files , not changed blocks. If you are using a reverse incremental, you may find that it will try and move the entire backup to the central repository at the same time.

thanks for your answer - i can imagine that it is not that coplicated to implement a feature that allows you to copy backups to existing repository the same way that the Cloud edition does it to the cloud storage. Maybe in some future release.

Yes, this used to be pretty frequent request.
