Copy Job Intervals
Hi Guys
Firstly, i have searched and read about this on these forums but am still struggling to understand the concept.
I have setup copy jobs to copy data off to our storeonce.
The plan is to copy 4 x weekly fulls and 12 x monthly full. Pretty simple requirements can you please sense check this for me.
This is how i have it set up,
Copy data every 7 days
Mapped to the job i want to copy
This is where i suspect i have made a mistake, I am not to clear on the number of restore points here and their role if i am only taking fulls as weeklys and monthlies.
Everything else is defaults.
Thanks in advance for your time

Re: Copy Job Intervals
Hi Martyn,
Overall your settings look correct.
What kind backup method is used for the primary backup job? What retention do you have there?
Mapping is a bit different thing. I guess you meant that you linked copy job to backup one.
Thanks!

Re: Copy Job Intervals
Would you not need to copy every day, in order to make sure you got the weekly full?
GFS would still apply policy: 4 weeklies, 12 monthlies

Re: Copy Job Intervals
You don't need to copy every day. I noticed that you enabled Retention Policy for Active Full Archive Backups option.
Here is a description how it willl work.
