I'm running Backup & Replication v7.0.0.764. I have a Linux repository for both the onsite and offsite backup. The synthetic full runs on Saturdays. After a synthetic full does the copy job copy the synthetic full or does the offsite repository run its own synthetic full from the existing backup? If it is suppose to run on the offsite repository, how do I make sure I have it configured to do this?
Also, if the network connection between the onsite and offsite is dropped during a copy job does it pick up where it left off or does it start all over?
With a Linux repository offsite, would the copy job benefit from installing a Windows Veeam proxy offsite?
Thank you,
Courtney

Re: Copy synthetic full across WAN
Backup copy retrieves the required blocks from the corresponding restore point on the source repository and copies them over to the target.CourtK wrote:After a synthetic full does the copy job copy the synthetic full or does the offsite repository run its own synthetic full from the existing backup?
It will resume data transfer when connection is up again.CourtK wrote:Also, if the network connection between the onsite and offsite is dropped during a copy job does it pick up where it left off or does it start all over?
What kind of link do you have between locations? If it is under 100Mbs, you can deploy additional Windows servers (or use existing ones) to act as WAN accelerators in both locations and enable WAN accelerated backup copy mode.CourtK wrote:With a Linux repository offsite, would the copy job benefit from installing a Windows Veeam proxy offsite?

Re: Copy synthetic full across WAN
Thanks for that information.
The WAN link between onsite and offsite is less than 100Mbs. I have a Windows server at the offsite location but I don't have the Plus edition so I don't think I can do the WAN accelerator, correct?
Thanks,

Re: Copy synthetic full across WAN
Correct, so you will be using the Direct copy mode (source repository to target repository).
