Hy!
Can I create Oracle RMAN backup job in Veeam B&R like VM backup?
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
The database administrator set the backup in Oracle side and after it, the ORacle RMAN job appear automatically in Veeam.
Another question how can I set dedicated email notification for Oracle RMAN backup job? In this way I cannot edit the job.
Thanks.

Re: Create manually Oracle RMAN backup job in Veeam
Hi Adam
Thanks
Fabian
This will be possible in our next version (V12).Can I create Oracle RMAN backup job in Veeam B&R like VM backup?
Also possible within V12 in VBR. I don't see a way in V11 to configure notification settings for the RMAN plugin primary jobs.Another question how can I set dedicated email notification for Oracle RMAN backup job? In this way I cannot edit the job.
Thanks

Re: Create manually Oracle RMAN backup job in Veeam
Hello Fabian!
Thanks a lot.
I searched on the forum and found this comment by PetrM:
You can definitely rely on built-in RMAN reporting functionality but we also provide the same reporting mechanism for plug-in jobs as we do for image-level backup jobs. By default, you will get email notification only if plug-in job is completed with "Warning" or "Failed" status. There is a registry value which can be used to adjust email notifications:
CODE: SELECT ALL
PluginEmailNotifications (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication, type: DWORD)
Value: 0 = disable all
Value: 1 = disable success (default if key is not present)
Value: 2 = disable success, warnings
Value: 3 = disable success, failed
Value: 4 = enable all
Perhaps, you could try it however it's worth taking into account that you would have a lot of notifications about successful runs if you performed log backups several times per day.
Is this valid in V11?
Thanks.

Re: Create manually Oracle RMAN backup job in Veeam
Hi Adam
Yes, that could work to configure when a notification will be send out for plugin backups.
It doesn't allow you to configure all settings like different recipients.
Similar settings in the VBR console for RMAN plugin jobs as for VM backup jobs will be available in V12.
Thanks
Fabian
