Create simple once a week full job

Post by mellon@washpenn.com »

Seems silly but I am struggling on how to make a simple, once a week full backup of a few servers. I just need the job to overwrite (or delete) the old file and create a new one every week. No reverse, no forward, no incremental. I only ever want but one file in the folder repository to exist.

Select a given day for active full backup creation and specify 1 as a number of restore point to keep. Thanks.

Thank You, that is what I initially did and yet it failed, kept getting incrementals too. Finally just deleted the whole job, started fresh and working now

Not sure what might have gone wrong in your case. As long as just one day is selected for both job execution and active full backup creation, only .vbk file should be create on that day. Anyway, glad to hear you're up and running now. Thanks.
