Creating Snapshot Delay
I am having an issue where Veeam will initiate a snapshot creation and vSphere will not create it until 10+ minutes later.
After the job fails, and retries it will go through just fine and quickly.
As a result the delayed snapshot will remain in vSphere and not be removed. Causing many to stack.
Veeam

11:11 - Creating VM Snapshot Failed
vSphere
11:13 - Create Snapshot...

Re: Creating Snapshot Delay
Which version of vCenter are you on?
Windows or Linux appliance?
If Windows, is all components installed on same machine? If yes, how much CPU/Memory does this machine have?

Re: Creating Snapshot Delay
Would you expect Veeam not to remove this delayed snapshot when the new job runs?

Re: Creating Snapshot Delay
The leftover snapshot should be deleted during next job cycle. Depending on product version, you might also have Snapshot Hunter functionality that looks for such snapshots and merges them regularly. Thanks.Would you expect Veeam not to remove this delayed snapshot when the new job runs?

Re: Creating Snapshot Delay
Also you may want to use Veeam ONE and its predefined alarms/reports for orphaned backup snapshots detection. On the other hand, I would also suggest investigating this delay with VMware support team, as the behavior you observe is not normal.
