CryptoLocker Summary Paper?

I have read some of the forum discussions but none of them give a step by step process "best practises" for making sure backups are safe from cryto attacks. Has someone put together a white paper (or seminar) on this that would be more extensive with various scenarios (e.g. veeam backup server onsite only, veeam backup repository offsite etc). The one article I saw pertained to the end point product but this would be for the B & R product.
