Current state VEEAM performance impacts with vSphere 6.5

Post by edirschedl »

Hi,

slowly we want to plan the upgrade of our vSphere infrastructure from 6.0 to 6.5. Are there any news regarding performance impacts (NBDSSL, reduced parallel NBD connections, SESparse...) Anton has talked last year in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTqjYFjMGIk

I've found following KB article from VMWare regarding NBDSSL & VDDK 6.5.0b: http://pubs.vmware.com/Release_Notes/en ... notes.html
"This release contains a fix to allow continued use of unencrypted NBD" --> Do you have any experience if this works?

Thank you,
Emanuel

Hi Emanuel,

I've discussed your worries with the QA team, they said performance became way better than it was with the release version of the vSphere 6.5.
Also, said performance improvement continuously rising from Veeam's perspective with the vSpehere 6.5 patches. Thanks!

Nope, according to received information the performance level is the same or even better with the latest patch. Thanks!
