Hello all,
I would like to post a FR for the installation wizard of VBR.
We want to install the (Postgre)SQL database instance on another location than the C: drive.
When we perform a default installation the DB is installed in C:\Program Files.
I would prefer that the location can be changed in the installation wizard.
Our current "solution" is to do a manual installation of the instance on D: and to connect to it during the installation.
Best regards, Jeroen Leijsten

Re: [Feature Request] - Database Engine location in VBR install wizard
Hello Jeroen
Thanks for your request.
We will keep it in mind for a possible enhancement in a future update.
Could you maybe share with us the use case of using another drive just for the database?
Best,
Fabian

Re: [Feature Request] - Database Engine location in VBR install wizard
Hello Fabian,
I think that the "use case" is a sort of Best Pactice that you do not want to install applications / databases on the System drive.
When the application is generating data and / or logfiles it can cause the C: drive to fill up and then the system crashes.
At our company we prefer to add a second drive D: and we install all applications on that. So as well the database instance as well the Veeam binaries (and ProgramData folders - RegKey "LogDirectory").
Best regards, Jeroen
