DataDomain Integration

Post by cecker »

Anyone seeing any imporvement with this? One interesting thing I've noticed and I wonder if others have as well - when the VEEAM backups are running there is a DataDomain performance graph that spikes to 100% - the NFS counter. Odd part is we dont use NFS at all - strictly CIFS. Anyone else seen this? Is everyone now using VStorageAPI w/virtual appliance and CBT enabled? Has anyone found any better performance with CBT disabled?

Hello Chris,

I'm not a great DataDomain expert, but I've heard that firmware upgrade to 4.7.3 version or later may improve the performance rates for your Veeam backup jobs. By the way you may find all the feedback on DataDomain usage from our customers at the link below, so please share your thoughts continue posting there:

Additionaly, please have a look at this thread, which uncovers some information about our upcoming version and DataDomain integration:

Hope it helps, thank you!

Thanks for the feedback. I actually have version 4.7.4.x of the DD code installed. Any rough guideline for when the new version is available for Beta testing? I'll volunteer to be one in a DD environment. Thanks
