Hello,
I'm on customer and I upgrade Veeam to last version.
I would like to upgrade backup chain format from 1 VBM for the entire job to 1 VBM per VM but I would like to understand what will happen in his infrastructure.
Backup go to Datadomain and then there is no backup copy performed by veeam but datadomain replication to the second datadomain.
On Veeam console, I can see both "backup files". One in backup and the other in backup (imported) because second datadomain is added as repository.
What would happen if I upgrade backup chain from backup (1st datadomain) ? Will it take a long time to replicates the change to the second one or I can do it safe and there will not have any issue.
I use to perform this action when repositories are managed by veeam
Thanks for your answer.

Re: datadomain replication upgrade backup chain format
Hi, I'd assume that the data itself shouldn't be replicated after the change as it is already there - at least, this is how DD replication is supposed to work. Only new updated metadata should be replicated. But we never tested such a scenario.
