DB and repo migration, which one first?

Hello,

we would like to migrate our Windows based repos to linux hardened ones. We also would like to migrate from SQL to PostgreSQL DB.
My question is which one should be done first? DB migration or repo?

Doesn't matter. There is no best practice for the order.
Migrating to PostgreSQL is easier and faster done. I would probably start with the DB, just to get it out of my way

• Migrate Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager
• Run the PostgreSQL server optimization command

For the migration of the backup data, I recommend to use our backup Move feature in V12:

Is the Move feature available in v11? What about tape jobs?

No, the feature was introduced in Version 12. If you want to move backups and keep FastClone space savings, you need to update to V12 and use the move feature.
PostgreSQL DB is also a V12 feature. V11 cannot use PostgreSQL for the database.

Backup To Tape jobs are not affected by the migration process to the hardened repository.
