DCIG 2013 Virtual Server Backup Software Buyer's Guide

Post by Daveyd »

Anyone read this yet? I stopped reading when they have Veeam coming in at 18th place out of 25 for overall score and rated as a "Basic" backup solution solution and Symantec Backup Exec 2012 and Netbackup 7.5 rated higher.

Not sure who or what DCIG represent but I do not believe they have their heads screwed on right. It's laughable.

Veeam and DCIG have confidentially resolved the legal action of Veeam Software Corporation v. DCIG, LLC, USDC WD Tex. As a result of the settlement, DCIG removed the publications Veeam objected to, including DCIG's "2013 Virtual Server Backup Software Buyer's Guide" and will not license them, and Veeam removed this post criticizing DCIG's "2013 Virtual Server Backup Software Buyer's Guide"

DCIG no longer ranks or evaluates Veeam, and DCIG's publications state that no negative inferences can be inferred if a vendor like Veeam is not mentioned and that, further, it is a misuse of the DCIG publication to suggest any mentioned or ranked vendor's products or services are better than an unmentioned vendors.
