Re: DD Boost Issues and 9.5 U3 Update
I can confirm that the latest fix seems to be working normally in 2 of our 3 environments... just waiting for the remainder of our copy jobs to start up. Our 3rd environment hasn't been updated yet so I will go ahead and apply the hotfix there today.
Hopefully all is well now.

Sounds like there's a hotfix?
I've opened a second ticket to try and get it

Re: DD Boost Issues and 9.5 U3 Update
I also had issues with Data Domain after applying Update 3, and wanted to share what I found.
Case# 02625886
After applying Update 3, we immediately had connection issues with one of our two Data Domain boxes.
Backup jobs targeted at it, would report connection errors and if you try to re-scan (or edit properties or add new) the repository, we would get an error message, "in use. Err: 5012"
The next morning, the issue had developed on our other Data Domain as well.
I was able to get support to escalate the case because it is a known issue.
Tier 2 support applied their hot fixes to the systems, however, the issue was still present and we were not able to connect to either data domain.
Support continued looking for the logs and decided the issue was coming from data domain, a DD_ERR_NOTIMPL error, even though the only thing that changed was applying Update 3. No changes had been made to either data domain system.
After opening a case with Dell, they were not able to find anything in the data domain logs.
As we continued looking in the data domain system, we noticed that under the DDBoost Protocol Active Connections, there was an entry for the VeeamAgent.exe and it showed a version of 9.5.0.1038.
This did not match the version on the server.
We try disabling and then re-enabling the DDBoost protocol, and while this cleared all the active connections, we still got the same error in Veeam.
We rebooted our data domain system and finally we were able to get Veeam and data domain communicating again.
Further, when we went to DDBoost Active Connections, the entry for VeeamAgent.exe was now showing the version as 9.5.0.1536.
Hopefully we have this all resolved now.
Hope this helps anyone else who runs into similar problems.

Just wanted to report back 5 days later that everything is still running great since applying the hotfix.

Re: DD Boost Issues and 9.5 U3 Update
Looks like the hotfix resolved the issues we were having as well after letting it run for the last number of days... we still have other issues we are dealing with but not related to the Data Domain and U3. Just an update for everyone...

Re: DD Boost Issues and 9.5 U3 Update
Support just installed the hotfix. I think I'll have to let it run for a week or so to feel like it's fixed.
Thanks Victoria

Re: DD Boost Issues and 9.5 U3 Update
Hi,
I read the release notes for update 3a and couldn't find if this issue is also addressed?
Having the same issue here, it popped out after some updates from MS were installed on proxy servers!?!
Now I would like to know if I should open the case or jump for Update 3a.
BR
Janez

Hi Janez, the hotfix for this issue should be included in U3a.
