i'm looking at a possible setup using ExaGrid deduplicating appliances. This setup will be using the Veeam B&R Standard edition and looking at the edition comparison page/pdf, i can see "Deduplicating storage integrations" is not available in the standard edition.
I don't fully understand this limitation. What is actually not available/possible using standard licensing regarding deduplicating storage solutions?

Re: Deduplicating storage integration - standard edition?
You cannot leverage accelerated Veeam data mover that runs directly on ExaGrid.
What you can still do is write backups to ExaGrid via a shared folder.
You will clearly see the difference when you will go through new backup repository creation wizard.

I would certainly recommend looking at using a higher version of Veeam licensing with the ExaGrid data mover. Using the DM will allow you to write around 1.6x faster to the appliance, and synthetic full creation speed can be improved by up to 6 times. This is because the DM carries out all the work within the appliance, not using the network and Veeam proxy.
