I wish to know if one creates a deduplicted backup using VEEAM and then backups up the deduplicated VEEAM backup files to tape, will the files still be deduplicated on tape or are they 'rehydrated'?
Thanks.

Re: Deduplication Query
Hi Robert,
If you were storing backup files on a dedupe volume, then once you decide to offload them to tapes, files would be rehydrated. With Veeam compressed and deduplicated backup files are sent to tapes, no rehydration is performed.
Thanks!
