Default AV exclusion
Why doesn't Veeam recommend AV exclusions for the proxy's non-OS disks? I would think Veeam wouldn't want AV to be scanning the disks it attaches to backup.

Re: Default AV exclusion
There is this KB for AV Exclusion paths: https://www.veeam.com/kb1999
One thing to note however is that if a proxy attaches a disk it is backing up - it doesn't go online and mount fully as a drive letter for a Windows proxy and therefore it won't be scanned AFAIK with most AV software.

On the Proxy I filter by event ID 98 and I see drive letters, or at least volume. Volume F: (\Device\HarddiskVolume849) is healthy. No action is needed.

Re: Default AV exclusion
I looked through the AV Exclusions and I do not see any exclusions for file types .vib or .vbk.

Should these file types also be excluded from scanning - if not do we take a performance hit?

Re: Default AV exclusion
If you exclude the repository folder, as recommended in Veeam KB 1999, that should be enough.
Veeam Knowledge Base 1999 wrote:Folders on Windows Repositories:
C:\Program Files(x86)\Veeam
C:\Windows\Veeam
%programdata%\Veeam
*Also include the path to the backup files*
